Read the class, character and zone panels
The menu puts Class choices on the left, the selected character and equipment in the center, and Zone choices on the right. In the observed menu, Warrior was selected and Elwynn Forest was highlighted.
Use the description for your selected class and the state of the zone list to check what you are about to start. Locked zone entries display requirements; a zone appearing in the list does not mean it is available.
- Class panel: inspect the highlighted class name and the displayed starting information. Do not infer abilities from the same class name in World of Warcraft.
- Character panel: check the selected character before starting. The observed screen includes a name field, equipment slots and Armory and Talents buttons.
- Zone panel: read the highlighted zone and the label on the large start button. In the observed state, the button read Enter Elwynn Forest.
Movement keys in Options → Key Bindings
Open Options from the menu’s upper-right corner, then choose Key Bindings in the left sidebar. The Movement section gives more precise action names than the menu’s short WASD hint.
W was pressed once in the loaded zone and began the observed run. The other entries in the table were read from Key Bindings and were not separately exercised in play. If you have changed bindings or your client differs, follow the values in your own screen.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to read every column.
| Action displayed | Primary binding | Secondary binding shown |
|---|---|---|
| Move forward | W | Up arrow |
| Move backward | S | Down arrow |
| Turn left | A | Left arrow |
| Turn right | D | Right arrow |
| Strafe left | Q | Not bound |
| Strafe right | E | Not bound |
| Jump | Space | Numpad 0 |
Change keys in Options → Key Bindings
In Options → Key Bindings, the screen instructs you to click a binding and then press the desired key, mouse button or wheel input. It also says that right-clicking a binding unbinds it.
Record the old value before changing anything. The screen offers Defaults and Done; use Done to finish with the panel when your bindings are as intended. This guide does not claim a tested reset workflow or a pause shortcut.
Enter Elwynn Forest and move to begin
Check the selected character and zone, then click the large Enter [zone] button. In the observation, Human Warrior was selected and Enter Elwynn Forest was clicked. The menu also displays Enter as a start shortcut; that key was not used to launch this run.
After loading, the game showed the character, Move to begin, a 00:00 timer and a next-boss marker at 03:00. Pressing W once started the timer. A short run then reached the first upgrade screen; pressing 2 selected its second card, Whirlwind, and the next screen showed that spell in the second slot.
Use the first-upgrade walkthrough for that observed sequence and how to read the six-slot spell row. This was a short opening through Level 3, not a boss or zone-clear test. If your client remains at loading or shows an error, use loading help.
A single Escape press did not open a pause menu during the check. That does not establish a pause shortcut; do not rely on Escape or on opening a panel to pause a live run.
Common questions
Do A and D move sideways?
The observed Key Bindings screen labels A and D as Turn Left and Turn Right. Q and E are labelled Strafe Left and Strafe Right. These bindings were read from the interface; W was the movement key exercised in the short run.
Where can I see or change the controls?
From the original menu, open Options → Key Bindings. The screen lists the current bindings and gives instructions for rebinding or unbinding an input. The rebinding workflow was not exercised in this check.
Which card key was actually tested?
The number 2 key was pressed at the first upgrade and selected the second card, Whirlwind. The menu displays 1, 2 and 3 as card-selection shortcuts; 1 and 3 were not separately exercised.
What is the pause key?
A verified pause key was not established. One Escape press did not open a pause menu in this observation, so do not rely on it to pause a run.

- Original browser client — menu, saves and first-upgrade observation (opens in a new tab)
What this source establishes
Original browser client observed on 2026-10-27; the menu displayed v0.122.0 (508416ff). Test record: original-web-2026-10-27-warrior-first-choice. Human Warrior was selected and Enter Elwynn Forest was clicked. The loaded zone showed Move to begin, timer 00:00 and a 03:00 next-boss marker. One W press started the timer; no attack input was sent and a kill-counter increase was observed. At 00:08, Level 2 offered Battle Shout, Whirlwind and Bloodrage, with six spell slots, one occupied, a 2/6 new-spell indication and Reroll 3. Pressing 2 selected Whirlwind; the next observation at 00:14 showed Level 3 and its icon in the second slot. These were the offers and timings in this one short run, not guaranteed rolls, progression timing or a build comparison. A single Escape press did not open a pause menu. Other movement and shortcut keys were read from the menu or Key Bindings, not separately exercised. Saves UI showed Export Save, Import Save, the hourly/latest-five backup description and an all-progress replacement warning. Export displayed its success message, but no disk file was retrieved or inspected. No import, restoration, hourly backup creation, boss encounter, zone clear, mobile or Windows session was tested.

What this source establishes
Read as static text, without running the client. Confirms third-party frame rejection; WebGPU API, adapter and lost-device checks; current browser guidance; sound activation on user input; saves.js import; and the documented Options → Saves → Import Save path. The query stamp is an asset cache identifier, not a semantic game version. No control bindings, run outcome or Windows save compatibility were established.

What this source establishes
Current static source describes and implements client/data loading indicators and startup error handling. This supports distinguishing loading stages from an error; it does not establish a universal normal loading time.
